Art Classes

This last week in Art, students continued to work on grid pictures in preparation for their larger pencil portrait.  Students were given a small, 1 inch picture and asked to copy it, using their pencil for value, into a larger 5 inch square.  The students had a great time completing this project and they quickly noticed how important it was to keep their measurements correct for the picture to turn out correctly.

On Grandparents & Families Day, our visitors were given the same projects and the students all helped their visitor complete their square.

Students have now started gridding their reference picture and are making progress in their own portraits.  They all have a good understanding of how to place value, which is the main objective.  We are looking forward to their finished pieces!
