Art Seibel Named Chief Operating Officer

NEW WINDSOR, MD (June 22, 2017) – D. Arthur (Art) Seibel, a business leader experienced in guiding corporate operations, strategic planning, expansion planning and executive management has joined Springdale Preparatory School as chief operating officer. Springdale Prep is a co-educational day and boarding school that will open in New Windsor, in Carroll County, Maryland, in August 2017.

“Art’s extensive background in leading a variety of businesses and his experiences as controller and CFO make him an impeccable fit for the Springdale community,” says Johnny Graham, founding head of school. “His creative and compliant approach to financial management will serve Springdale Prep and our families well as we open our doors to our inaugural class this fall.”

In addition to financial management, Seibel will assist Graham in the areas of risk management, compliance and developing business office protocols.

Most recently, Seibel held several executive leadership positions for Cristal Inorganic Chemicals, the world’s second largest titanium dioxide manufacturer. He served as chief financial officer before relocating to Switzerland to serve as managing director. There, he established and opened an operational sales office in Zug, where he supervised 21 colleagues in 13 different mother tongues and processed $3 billion in revenue the first two years. In addition, Seibel has served on the board of directors for New Windsor State Bank since 2001, and has led the board as chairman for the last three years. During that span, the bank recorded its best financial results since inception.

Previously, Seibel served as vice president, controller for Jos. A. Bank Clothiers and founder and president of Green Valley Consulting, He spent five years in management positions at Lyondell Petrochemical Company and 12 years with Price Waterhouse.

Seibel holds board leadership fellow credentials from the National Association of Corporate Directors, the certified public account certification from the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy, and is a certified financial planner. He was an adjunct professor, having taught financial courses including accounting principles at McDaniel College.

Seibel earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Houston, where he ranked number one in his class. He received his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and completed additional study at Price Waterhouse School of Business in Vevey, Switzerland.
