Athletic Coaches

Springdale Preparatory School is a new, co-educational, boarding school and day school located on 21 acres in northern Maryland’s rolling countryside. Springdale Preparatory School seeks qualified applicants for athletic head coaches and a certified athletic trainer. The following are part-time, seasonal positions for the 2017-2018 school year, with the potential for a full-time positions beginning in fall 2018:

Duties:
  • Uphold the mission of SPS on and off athletic courts.
  • Teach fundamentals of speciality sport.
  • Collaborate with Dean of Curriculum & Instruction to ensure academic eligibility of each student.
  • Collaborate with Athletic Director to grow competitive interscholastic sports culture at Springdale Preparatory
  • Communicate team practice and game schedule on weekly basis with school administration, parents/guardians.
  • Lead athletic summer camps (June, July, and August) in order to enhance Springdale Preparatory School student enrollment.

Science Learning Facilitator

Duties:
  • Uphold the mission of SPS in and out of the classroom.
  • Develop daily instructional plans for students in Science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide electives and activities in STEAM.
  • Teach and supervise students according to both class and individual needs.
  • Evaluate and document student outcomes.
  • Communicate with families about student progress.
  • Offer office hours for group or individual tutoring according to student needs.
  • Serve as advisor for individual students.
  • Mentor students through leadership in student teams/clubs, faculty-student collaboration, or student research projects.
  • Participate in the life and culture of SPS by serving on appropriate staff committees, attending weekly professional development period meetings, and other duties as necessary.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject area.
  • Three years experience working with secondary school-aged children in a teaching capacity.
