Fifth grade students will begin working on their “game changers” biographical wax museum project.  We will be researching, writing biographical sketches and writing/rehearsing one minute monologues for our “game changers”  to be presented for our Celebration of Learning. Our next Greek/ Latin quiz will be on Friday, May 4, 2018.
 
In grades 6 and 7, we will continue our study of the short story form with Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron, an exciting dystopian anti-hero story.  Students will be writing and presenting their own short stories, following the elements of the plot diagram.  Our next Greek/ Latin quiz will be on Friday, May 4, 2018.
 
In grades 8 and 9, Spinelli’s Stargirl has prompted some quality classroom discussions on topics including conformity, creativity, bullying, and the disenfranchised of our society.  As we continue to read and discuss the novel, students will be choosing from a variety of topic to construct a five paragraph argumentative essay.   Our next Greek/ Latin quiz will be on Friday, May 4, 2018.
 
In grades 10 and 11, Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men has us journeying to the Salinas Valley in California to explore the mind of the migrant worker.  We will be writing cumulative essays on the novels key themes, in addition to our summative unit test on Tuesday May1, 2018.  Our next Greek/ Latin quiz will be on Friday, May 4, 2018.
