04 Feb Glenn Singer Named Director of Admissions
Glenn Singer, an experienced admissions administrator at several top global boarding schools in the United States, has been named director of admissions at Springdale Preparatory School, a co-educational day and boarding school located in New Windsor, in Carroll County, Maryland.
Singer has extensive experience in the leadership and advancement of independent schools including expertise in managing a multi-faceted admissions process from inquiry to application to testing to admissions decisions. He builds strong relationships with parents, administration, and students as witnessed in his multiple roles throughout his 25-plus years working in independent schools. He has served leadership positions in development, admissions and as assistant head of school, and looks forward to welcoming Springdale’s first students this fall, as well as building long-term relationships with students and their families.
Previously, Singer was director of admission for Grand River Academy in Austinburg, Ohio. There, he oversaw overall operation and functioning of the office of admission, building relationships and increasing student retention by 15 percent. He was also assistant dean of admissions/assistant dean of students at the Family Foundation School in Hancock, New York, where he facilitated enrollment of students at the therapeutic boarding school. In his 20 years in Maryland, he served a variety of institutions. Locally, he was assistant head of school at Baltimore Hebrew Day.
Glenn brings to the table vast experience and knowledge in the admissions process and a knack for building relationships with families and prospective students,” says Johnny Graham, founding head of school. “We look forward to his leadership as we build Springdale Prep into one of the area’s top boarding schools.”
Singer earned a master’s degree in educational management and supervision at Loyola College in Baltimore. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts/psychology from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
Singer, who spent part of his childhood in the Baltimore area, joined Springdale Prep in February, 2017.
