13 Feb History class updates
Our fifth and eighth grade students are exploring the unit ‘Many Cultures Meet’ (Prehistory-1550). This chapter helps students learn the essential lessons associated with the intersection of various cultures in America. Students learn vocabulary, terms, and more with flashcards, games, and other study tools sequenced to align with the ‘Many Cultures Meet’ theme.
Sixth and seventh grades are exploring themes in India and China. India and China were each home to an early river valley civilization. The people of India and China developed their own governments, languages, customs, and social structures as well as religions and philosophies that still shape life in Asia. Students are challenged to investigate the influences and connections the Indian and Chinese civilizations have had on modern civilizations.
Our Upper school students are exploring The Renaissance and Reformation. The class is exploring the widespread change in culture that took place in Europe beginning with the 1300s. Students will investigate how and why the movement began in Italy.
