That’s why our middle school program is based not only on fundamentals but focuses on developing critical thinking skills, oral and written communication skills and analytical thinking. on affords rigor, intensity and focus. We consider it our responsibility to prepare your child for college and for life and this begins in fifth grade.
We work to equip our students with a mastery of essential skills and the knowledge they need to tackle all of the challenges they will ultimately face. They will learn research and fact gathering skills, listening skills and public speaking. They will develop an understanding of mathematical concepts as they follow the natural progression from decimals, fractions and patterns to linear and proportional relationships to pre-algebra and algebra. Throughout their mathematical experiences, students will master problem solving and learn real-world applications for these concepts.
Our middle school curriculum also provides a deep understanding focuses on fundamentals of history, government and citizenship as they study the development of the United States and the world to the present day. They become environmental stewards as they learn about hydrology and clean energy and create solutions to better the world. Robotics serves as an introduction to the engineering component of study at Springdale, a vital focus that prepares them for future employment outside of the school campus. Wellness and arts coursework are required as we strive to produce well-rounded global citizens who will make a difference in today’s world.
In addition to our academic day, students have the option to participate in our after-school offerings which change quarterly, providing varied opportunities throughout year. Post-day activities include intramural sports, world languages clubs and arts programming.
