Neal Roop Named Student Services Coordinator

NEW WINDSOR, MD (June 30, 2017) – Neal C. Roop, a community leader experienced in project management, human resources, and administration has joined Springdale Preparatory School as student services coordinator. Springdale Prep is a co-educational day and boarding school that will open in New Windsor, in Carroll County, Maryland, in August 2017.

“Neal has an extensive background in administration, leading staff, projects and systems enabling him to assume a crucial role at Springdale,” says Johnny Graham, founding head of school. “His reputation for professionalism, integrity, creativity and resourcefulness will translate well as he oversees all aspects of student services.”

As student services coordinator, Roop will support the school administration as the conduit in meeting student needs. He will connect students with a variety of services and administrators in such areas as counseling, instruction, residential life and athletics, and he will assist students with challenges, helping them develop an action plan to address issues.

Since 2008, Roop has served in an administrative capacity with the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association, an organization that promotes, advocates for and represents the interests of the volunteer fire, rescue and emergency medical service of Carroll County. He supported organization officers and members and acted as a liaison for the organization to the Carroll County government, and performed strategic planning and auditing functions for the organization. In addition, he managed injury reporting and coordination and claim verification with insurance companies. Also, he developed and implemented new and existing programs, regulations and policies in accordance with best practices.

Previously, Roop served for eight years as a manager for the Carroll Area Transit System, which provided human services transportation to all persons with disabilities, low income and seniors who needed specialized services above what is available through the county’s public service provider.

Roop currently is serving for his 9th year as mayor of New Windsor, serving as the town representative and advocate. In this capacity, he supervises financial decisions, grant writing and public relations.

Roop is a member of Leadership Carroll through the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, holds PennSCORE Master Trainer Certification through PennTRAIN-PennSCORE and is an advanced Public Information Officer (PIO) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
