Renovation Begins for Blue Ridge Academic Complex

NEW WINDSOR, MD (February 2, 2018) – Springdale Preparatory School has begun an extensive renovation to the Blue Ridge Academic Complex, formerly known as the Blue Ridge Building.
The Blue Ridge Academic Complex will feature brilliant 21st century collaborative learning spaces, including breakout rooms for small-group class projects, eight classrooms, laboratory space, a technologically advanced media center, gymnasium and lounge. The two-level renovation includes upgraded, state-of-the-art electronic applications including elevators and exterior exits.

As Springdale Preparatory School expands and the student population grows, we are working to upgrade our learning spaces to allow students and learning facilitators to embark on a more intensive learning journey,” says Johnny Graham, head of school.

The building, originally constructed in the early 1900s, will be updated to modern standards including ADA compliance, while maintaining the integrity of the historic architecture.
The renovation began in early February and is expected to reach completion in July.
Administrative offices, previously located in the Blue Ridge Building, have moved permanently to Old Main, the central point of campus.
