Our Science classrooms have been busy! In 6th and 7th grade we are creating a silkworm ecosystem. We are ordering the silkworms this weekend and we have built them a habitat. We have researched them, and we are excited to raise them and harvest our silk! In Biology we are beginning our unit on cells. This week the students will be creating a travel brochure or a creative informative presentation on either plants or animal cells. I’m excited to see what they create! In 8th grade we just finished a study on animals, and we are beginning a study on the African Dambo ecosystem. In 5th grade we are continuing in our study of the Arctic. We are also working on joining forces with the art department and creating some sculptures from recycled materials.
The 5th grade basil is also taking off!
