The past two weeks we have been learning about different value systems and how they were applied to Albrecht Dürer’s wood cuts for print making. We learned about Albrecht Dürer’s life and looked at many of his well known prints. Finally, we finished the last week by making a lino-cut print of our own. The students all drew their own image on a lino-cut, using sharp tools to cut around the image. We rolled ink on our image using a brayer and made some test prints to check for mistakes. After the lino-cut was fixed if necessary, a final test print was made. These can be viewed in our Art classroom and at Family Conferences Weekend.
